Cataracts
Cataracts are a common eye condition that affects many people worldwide. They occur when the lens of the eye becomes cloudy, leading to blurred vision and difficulty seeing. At TanakaVision, we aim to provide comprehensive information about cataracts and their treatment options, including our preferred intraocular lens (IOL), the Light Adjustable Lens.
Cataracts are typically diagnosed through a comprehensive eye examination by an ophthalmologist. The examination may involve assessing visual acuity, examining the lens for cloudiness, and evaluating the overall health of the eye. Once diagnosed, the treatment for cataracts involves surgical removal of the cloudy lens and replacing it with an artificial lens, such as an IOL.
Our preferred IOL, the Light Adjustable Lens, is an innovative option for cataract patients. Unlike traditional IOLs, the Light Adjustable Lens allows for personalized vision correction after the cataract surgery. This lens is made of a special material that can be adjusted using a specific type of light. By exposing the lens to controlled ultraviolet light, its shape can be modified to fine-tune the patient's vision.
Compared to other lenses, the Light Adjustable Lens offers several benefits. Firstly, it provides a high level of customization, allowing for precise vision correction tailored to each individual's needs. This personalized approach can result in improved visual outcomes and reduced dependence on glasses or contact lenses. Additionally, the light adjustable lens offers the flexibility to make adjustments even after the initial surgery, ensuring optimal vision correction.
“Dr Tanaka is the best and his staff is also wonderful. I recently had Light Adjustable Laser lenses for cataract surgery. I don’t need glasses even for reading. I am so happy with the incredible improvement with my vision. And the process was seamless! Thank you Dr Tanaka et al.”
